Bill Conner’s daughter Abbey died suddenly in January 2017 at the age of only 20. Bill wanted to honor Abbey and her short lived life. Though her life was short, she had left lot of impressions that the people she met will carry with them as long as they lived.
Abbey’s dad describes her as selfless and a helping person. Being that she did just that when she got her drivers license at 16, fours years ago. She registered as a organ donor.
“She registered. It’s something that she knew a long time ago. Unfortunately, it came to fruition, but that’s Abbey,” Conner said. “If you had her as a friend she always had your back, and for her to be helping people in need — that fits who she is.”
Bill Wanted to honor Abbey in a special way that only a father who knows his daughters heart can do.
Austin, abbey’s brother, graduated in May 2017. Right after his graduation, Bill hoped on his bike and started the long 1400 mile journey to go listen to Abbey’s heart for Fathers Day. “This is what she would want me to do,” Conner told CBS News.
While Abbey’s dad had to say good bye to his daughter another young man ,in his 20’s, in Louisiana was given only 10 days to live.
