Rick Ellis, who was a dad to a six-year-old beautiful girl, in 2014 made an emotional video pleading people who are down in life to pull up and fight.
Rick Ellis lost his six-year-old baby girl to a drunk driver who liked to party. Life got hard and the driver could not handle it, so she turned to drinking. On the day his baby was killed, the drunk driver had been partying for two days straight. The driver’s boyfriend beat her up that night, so she decided to drive to Arkansas but never made it.
You see Christy Ellis is Rick Ellis ‘s ex-wife. Never for once did Rick think that the mother of his child would put his baby girl in harm’s way. But on that fateful night, she did and became the drunk driver who killed her own daughter. Unfortunately, Christy died that night as well.
Heartbroken Rick, whose life was turned upside down, turned to God for answers. He felt like he was supposed to make this video to tell people that when life gets tough not to turn to addiction or drinking, but to buckle up and stand up. Things will always get better. Knowing God is the way, just because one goes to church every Sunday is not going to save him/her. The only thing that will save one is knowing God.
Ricks powerful video has gotten more than eight million responses worldwide and has helped many people to get help. It’s the agony that addiction causes on the loved ones that speak volume in his video.
“Don’t let your loved ones look down on you 6 feet in the ground because you couldn’t handle life”
